Learn how to send, protect, manage, and download files with TransferITly.
Start here
Getting started
- 1
Open the app and sign in
Your workspace contains Send files, Recent Activity, Monthly Usage, Account, and Billing.
- 2
Choose one file
Drop a file into the uploader on desktop, or use Choose file to select a photo, video, or document.
- 3
Choose retention and upload
Select an available retention period. TransferITly uploads the file and creates a protected link with a six-digit PIN.
- 4
Share the link and PIN
Send both to your recipient. They can download without a TransferITly account.

File selection
TransferITly does not use a file-type allowlist. You can choose common photos, videos, archives, documents, and other files, provided the file stays within your plan limits.
On desktop, drag and drop is available. On phones and tablets, tap Choose file and use the file, photo, or video picker offered by your device.
Current limits
- 1 GB maximum per file
- 4 GB transferred per month
- 10 transfers per month
- 1 day retention
- 25 GB maximum per file
- 350 GB transferred per month
- 30 transfers per month
- 1, 7, or 30 days retention
Plan prices are intentionally not duplicated here. See the current plans for live pricing and availability.
Large files and upload progress
Files at or above 25 MB upload in multiple parts automatically. The app shows real progress and an estimated time remaining. If the browser closes, the tab is interrupted, or the network fails, retry the upload; unfinished uploads are not resumed automatically.
Plan limits are also enforced by the service. A file that exceeds an allowed size or monthly allowance will not be finalized as a transfer.
Access
Sharing & security
Protected link
Each completed transfer creates a share link. The link stays available only while the transfer is active and within its selected retention window.
Six-digit PIN
PIN protection is always on and generated automatically. The PIN is single-use: after a successful unlock, the sender must reset it before another download.
Automatic expiry
When retention ends, the share link can no longer be used. Create a new transfer if the recipient still needs the file.
Incorrect PINs and resets
Repeated incorrect PIN attempts temporarily lock access. If the attempt limit is exhausted, the recipient must ask the sender to reset the PIN. A reset invalidates the previous PIN immediately.
Free accounts can reset a transfer PIN once. Pro accounts can reset the PIN again while the transfer remains active.
Recipient experience
Receiving files
- 1
Open the share link
The public download page opens without an account or app installation.
- 2
Enter the PIN
Use the six-digit PIN supplied by the sender.
- 3
Download the original file
After the PIN is accepted, the browser starts the file download. The PIN is then consumed.
Workspace
Managing transfers
Recent Activity
The Recent Activity area lists active transfers with the file name and type, size, creation date, retention, time remaining, availability, and available controls.
- Copy link copies the recipient URL.
- Reset PIN generates a replacement and immediately invalidates the previous PIN.
- Availability lets Pro senders disable or restore a live link.
- Delete revokes access immediately and permanently deletes the stored file.
Free accounts show the three most recent active transfers. Pro accounts can load more active transfers.
Allowance
Monthly Usage & plans
The Monthly Usage area reports two current-month values from your account:
- Transfers used compared with the plan allowance.
- Data transferred compared with the monthly GB allowance.
Usage is recorded when an upload is successfully finalized. Counters are grouped by calendar month and a new month starts a new usage period. Reaching either the transfer-count limit or the data limit prevents another transfer until capacity is available.
Your exact limits are supplied by the current plan catalog and shown in the app. The defaults documented above match the current Free and Pro configuration.
Manage
Account & billing
Account
Signed-in users can view their email and plan, update profile details, sign out, or request permanent account deletion. The sign-in email is read-only in the profile screen.
Billing
TransferITly offers Free and Pro plans. Pro checkout supports monthly or yearly billing and is processed by Stripe. Pro users can open the Stripe billing portal to manage their subscription.
If cancellation is scheduled, Pro access remains active through the displayed end of the current paid period. The account then returns to Free limits.
Help
Troubleshooting
My upload did not finish
Keep the tab open and retry on a stable connection. If the sign-in session expired, sign in again before retrying. Interrupted uploads do not resume automatically.
The file is too large or I reached a limit
Check Monthly Usage and your current plan. The app blocks files above the per-file maximum and transfers that would exceed a monthly data or transfer-count allowance.
The PIN is invalid or already used
Confirm all six digits with the sender. PINs are single-use. If it was already consumed or repeatedly entered incorrectly, the sender can reset it from Recent Activity.
The transfer is expired or unavailable
Expired and deleted transfers cannot be recovered from the recipient link. A Pro sender may also have temporarily disabled access. Contact the sender for a new link or restored access.
I need help with billing
Open Billing from the signed-in app to view the current plan or manage a Pro subscription. For unresolved checkout or account questions, contact support.
